Shahid Beheshti continual attention to quality in research, teaching and modern facilities has turned it into one of the best known institutions in the Middle East. The Dental school is located in the Northwest of Tehran adjacent to the Medical School with a fantastic view of the Alborz Mountains. This School was established in 1965 and started it's initial academic program with 120 students. The university occupies a vast 1,600 m2 of land and has several buildings at its disposal. The cilinics contain modern dental equipment, state of the art units and efficient dental laboratories.

The Dental School has the potential to educate and sustain 453 dental undergraduates, and 109 postgraduates, and 18 PHD students in Community Oral Health.
Its continual expansion over 45 years and the school's focus on excellence in teaching has ranked it as one of the top Universities in the country. The Iranian Dental Assessing Committee gave the highest score to Shahid Beheshti Dental School in their latest assessment.

Apart from the General Dentistry Course, this University offers no less than 12 specialty postgraduate degrees. It also provides dental technician degrees as well as oral hygiene and dental education courses. The University is well known at a regional and international level. Currently it has 115 full time academic staff involved in teaching as well as cutting edge research. All the educational activities are student centered for the future advancement of dentistry and the delivery of patient care.
The School funds and encourages research, many of it's academic staff have published original research in well known Iranian and international journals. The extensive library offers access to Medline and other established medical databases. The dental school encourages cooperation between students, professors and staff in order to create an ideal educational atmosphere for all concerned.
Shahid Beheshti also offers continuing dental education hands on courses and the latest up to date lectures for qualified dentists.
